Silent Hill: Townfall

Silent Hill: Townfall – The Terrifying Psychological Horror Game Coming in 2026

Introduction

Silent Hill: Townfall is a unique survival horror game mainly because it does not rely on jump scares. The series is known for delivering horror through psychological horror and emotional storytelling. Silent Hill: Townfall is going to continue this tradition.

Story & Setting

The story takes place in the seaside town of Saint Amelia, inspired by St. Monans, Scotland, around 1996. The person we are going to play as is Simon Ardeau. He has a hospital wristband on his right arm, where we can see that he was born on October 15, 1959, which makes him 37 years old. In addition, we can also see that his blood type is A+. On his left hand, we see a needle inserted with an IV bag taped to it. When he touches the IV, the protagonist goes through violent pain.

The story starts with Simon arriving at the docks in the town of St. Amelia in Scotland. Simon seems to have no memories and cannot understand his connection to the town. He must discover his past to better understand that connection.

Gameplay

The game is going to have melee weapons, like the wooden piece seen in the trailer, and it also uses blocking mechanics. There are also firearms, but looking at the trailer, those are going to be rare because only three bullets were shown. You also have stealth as an option to play the game.

You’re going to be using a CRT TV throughout the story. You have to manually tune it to find the correct channel. The device provides mysterious messages and also acts as a radar for enemies.

According to the trailer, there is going to be a safe room where no one can touch you and where you can manage your inventory.

We saw two or three creatures in the trailer. The first one is an axe-headed creature, and the other is a faceless creature with needles flowing through its body. There are also other creatures that are tied with belts.

The game is going to create constant tension with fear of the unknown, discovering new places filled with mysteries, and the sounds of the fog are also going to play a big role in the game.

Why Fans Are Excited

The game is still a mystery because we don’t know many details about it, but the storytelling and the way it presents horror are completely different from other games. Most of the games that I reviewed and wrote about, I already knew the main story, so I wasn’t that intrigued. But for this game, I’m really curious about it. I think if you watch the trailer as well, you’re going to be really interested in the game.

Release Date & Platforms

The game is scheduled to be released on September 24, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store.
