Beast of Reincarnation
Beast of Reincarnation is an upcoming action role-playing game that is going to be developed by Game Freak, the same developers known for developing the core Pokémon series and taking new steps toward dark action, fast-paced combat, mysterious monsters, and a beautifully ruined Japan.

Story & Setting
The story takes place after a post-apocalyptic collapse that occurred 2,000 years in the future, where humanity is largely gone and nature has reclaimed the cities. The only things that remain are the machines, monsters, and some survivors.
The main protagonists are going to be Emma, Ku, and Kagura. Emma is a skilled warrior who has a strange power that allows her to control plants with it. She creates platforms, boosts herself into the air, and launches strong attacks.
Emma is going to be with her companion Ku, a dog-like creature similar to a Pokémon-style partner that has different abilities. During combat, you can easily alternate between Emma and Ku.
Kagura is a little girl who is recovering from an infection, and Emma wants to protect her at any cost.
From the start of the game, you’re launched into the war zone, which really hooks you. The game’s story has been compared to Princess Mononoke.
Gameplay & Combat
The game is filled with various enemies, from mutant creatures to robots. Like I said before, Emma has abilities to control plants to help in fights, but apart from that, Emma can use fast sword-slashing combo attacks and finish enemies with satisfyingly brutal finishing moves.
Emma also has a crossbow. To easily defeat enemies, you have to use her powers together with blade attacks.
And there is more to the game. Ku adds a satisfying twist to combat. Yes, Ku will automatically attack enemies with bites or tail whips, but with the click of a button, the whole combat is suspended in slow motion, where you control Ku using six special abilities. For example, these include Fireball, Tree Spawn, Root Bind, and more.
But there is another twist. If you want to use Ku’s powers, you need a number of points, similar to magic points. You gain these points by nailing parries with Emma’s sword.
You’re not only working hard for Ku’s attacks, but you also get buffs. Buffs like the Fireball attack recover a small amount of health for every hit landed.
So, in conclusion, fighting alongside Ku is about coordinated attacks and teamwork strategies with precision dodging and skill-based combat, where you face powerful bosses with unique attack patterns.
The competition is close to Black Myth: Wukong, NieR: Automata, and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.
Exploration & World Design
The game is based on abandoned cities and vast forests, which are divided into different regions. Once you enter a region, you are not going to return, giving the game a more linear path.
The game does not have any side quests, but you have to gather resources to build better equipment. The game is estimated to last 30 to 40 hours.
Graphics & Unreal Engine 5
The game’s graphics are on a next-level equivalent to a AAA game, with cinematic lighting. It is also set to use Unreal Engine 5.
Why Fans Are So Excited
Just by looking at the trailer of the Beast of Reincarnation, you’re already hooked. The beautiful world design, fast-paced combat, and the unique role Ku plays in the middle of combat also add a lot to the game.
Release Date & Platforms
Development began in 2020. Beast of Reincarnation was announced in May 2023, and for now we know that the game is going to be released on August 4, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.

According to all the details that we have, it is expected to be a semi-open-world game. Basically, there are going to be different sections of the map, and once you enter one, you’re free to explore it. However, once you move to the next section, I don’t think you’ll be able to return to the previous one.
Conclusion
It’s been six years, and Beast of Reincarnation is finally ready to play. After all the trailers that I have seen, I think waiting for six years was the right move because Beast of Reincarnation turned out to be extraordinary.
