Design

Like the Flip 8, the Fold 8 is expected to not have a huge redesign, but we are going to see more upgrades than on the Flip 8.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to have some dimensions reduced, like the thickness, but nothing else major. There is a possibility that the camera changes a bit as well. Something like 210 g and 4.1 mm thin when unfolded. The new phone is expected to be much sharper and wider. There are images circulating on the internet where we see three Galaxy dummies that might be coming soon.

The base of the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is expected to be made using laser drilling, the same concept that Apple is reportedly using for its foldable iPhone. This might be related to a more durable structure. I am not sure, but Samsung is expected to switch back to carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. They were using a titanium backplate in their chassis to improve rigidity and reduce weight.

If we talk about the display, the new Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is going to come with a Dynamic AMOLED display that is going to have more vibrant colors, deeper blacks, and even higher contrast. The display is also going to have Vision Booster, around a 120 Hz refresh rate, and 2,600 nits of brightness. Samsung is also planning to reduce the visible crease by 20%. Nothing is clear yet regarding the new Samsung Wide.

Main Features

Now let’s talk about the chip, camera, and other features. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 is probably going to have the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.

The cameras are expected to be a 200 MP wide-angle camera, a 50 MP ultra-wide camera, a possible 10 MP or 12 MP telephoto camera, a 10 MP cover camera, and a 10 MP selfie camera.

Rumors suggest that the battery is going to jump from 4,400 mAh to 5,000 mAh with 45W charging. You can choose the phone with 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage, possibly with 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM.

Now let’s talk about the new Samsung Wide phone. It is very similar to a foldable phone, but the dimensions are different. Basically, it’s more of a booklet-type phone. The specs of this phone are still unclear, but it is rumored that this phone is likely to arrive this year.

Other things that I didn’t talk about are the AI features and camera improvements. We’re going to see a huge jump in those because, interestingly, Samsung is trying to really integrate AI into its phones, and with the new software they’re going to push those features to the limit.

Why the Z Fold 8 Is So Hyped

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 brings a new experience to fans. Sometimes it’s a phone, and sometimes it’s like a laptop that can help with multitasking. It also brings a new experience when watching movies on a larger display instead of a small screen, so it’s pretty popular.

Expected Release Date & Price

Samsung will try to keep the price as close as possible to the previous generation. We’re going to see a slight bump in pricing mainly because component prices have gone up, but other than that, we should expect the introduction of this phone this summer, with a launch expected in August.
