Apple is going to change its release strategy this year. One of the surprising changes in their plan is simply launching the iPhone 18 Pro, Pro Max, and foldable models first, and a few months later releasing the iPhone 18, maybe alongside the 18e. That is not all — Apple is coming with new things for the new iPhone.

Release Strategy Changes
Apple always launched the iPhone lineup all together, but this year they’re going to break this ritual that has been ongoing for many years. They usually launch something like the iPhone 18, iPhone 18 Plus, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max all together, followed later by the iPhone 18e.
But this year, they’re going to launch the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Foldable first, and after that they will introduce the iPhone 18, maybe the iPhone 18 Plus, and the iPhone 18e.
Looking at other practices, the most expensive models are going to come first, then the less expensive ones. In that way, you’re not only paying more for the iPhone, but also paying to get it before some other users.

I already talked about the basics in my previous article about the iPhone 18. I am not going to repeat them, but instead give more new features and things that I have not explored in my previous article.
The new iPhone is going to be equipped with the A20 chip. There is a possibility that because of the new iPhone Fold, we are going to see the A20 Pro chip made to support the Ultra iPhone. On top of that, the chip is going to have 12 GB of RAM that supports the iOS 27 AI features.
It is also said that the new chip is going to have a 2-nanometer architecture.
Camera Improvements
According to rumors, there are going to be some changes in the cameras. Yes, there is a possibility that we may see a 24-megapixel front-facing camera.
But I am also talking about the possibility of seeing an aperture lens on the main camera for the iPhone 18 Pro that allows the user to manually adjust how much light gets to the sensor.
Other Features
We can expect that the new iPhone would have a smaller Dynamic Island, which equals more screen space, stronger Apple Intelligence support, and more AI tools. We could also see the C2 modem in the new iPhone.
Apple is working on a new generation of its own 5G modem. There is a possibility that we could see that in the upcoming iPhone.
Cost-Cutting Measures
Because the price of RAM has gone extremely high, Apple is looking to cut costs. It is not 100% confirmed where we are going to see a downgrade, but Apple is looking forward to maintaining a good price.
