Everyone has their eyes on the PS6, but this time, the star of the show is going to be Xbox Magnus. Everyone is expecting the new PlayStation 6 to be the most powerful and the best, but the Xbox is planning something that could destroy PlayStation 6’s fame. The competition between the Xbox and PlayStation is finally heating up. PlayStation 6 on one side and the other side a new Xbox with its project “Magnus”.
First of all, what does Magnus stand for, because I am going to be yapping about that a lot. Xbox Magnus is the codename for the next generation of Xbox. That is going to compete against PlayStation 6.Second, a quick warning these leaks are unofficial and need to be taken into consideration and not taken as reality. And third, we are not going to be talking about any Hardware. Yes, I am going to stay away from Process and power, CPU, GPU, Memory, Storage, but we are only going to explore details about the features and Ecosystem.
Features and Ecosystem
Many leaks and commentary from Xbox leadership say that Xbox Magnus is built around the PC ecosystem, AI, and enhanced features.
Changes in the app store
Phil Spencer is the CEO of Microsoft Gaming. He started his work in 1988 as an intern at Microsoft. He said openly that they are considering bringing third-party PC storefronts like Epic Games Store, Itch.io, and maybe even Steam. That means Xbox fans can also access games that PC users have access to. Also, with that vision, the Xbox user is not going to be locked with a single store; they are going to have more options.
Xbox is playable on all devices.
Spencer again talked about an extraordinary idea that wood redefines and changes the way consoles are seen. He does not want, like old temps, a single console under a TV. He is thinking of doing something for the new generation. Imagine their data working across devices. If I tell you in detail, they want that in Xbox, which is going to be plugged into any device, but also can be found in other devices, like cloud streaming. In one console, you can connect to all the devices you feel playing on.
Compatibility with the previous generation of Xbox
For now, Microsoft is working on something new. They are trying to make the new 9th generation of Xbox compatible with the old generations, like the Xbox One and the Xbox 360, and so on. In total, they want a total of four generations that are going to be accessible on the Xbox Series X|S. But this is impossible if any changes are made for the Xbox that was already released a long time ago, there could be some errors or the spaceis not going to be enough because the 9th generation of Xbox is not initially made with the system that could support 4 old generations. But the new generation has the possibility that features this compatibility.
In conclusion
If the Xbox allows you to go in different stores to buy their game. Xbox users can buy games that are not available on the xbox store and also there going to have different pricing and different discounts will be available for users. These takes are not that easy to complicate because they need a lot of support from other stores, and also, they are going to need high-end security. It’s going to be amazing cause you no longer get a console to play, but a PC ecosystem where accounts and saves are supported across PC and console.
