Samsung Galaxy S26: 10 Powerful Upgrades, AI Features & Shocking Leaks Revealed

Introduction

The new Samsung Galaxy S26 comes with the title “our new AI phone.” It has been more than a year since the Galaxy S25 was released. This phone was unveiled on Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2025, and customers were able to buy it on Friday, Feb. 7. We are again in February, and everyone is looking forward to the new Galaxy S26 series. I am sure that the phone is going to be unveiled on February 25, following the same schedule as the previous generation. After the new S26 is unveiled, there will be a short preorder period before the phone goes on sale. There will be the same models as the previous Samsung phone.

All the details we are going to provide are rumors or leaks that are not 100% trustworthy, but they are somewhat logical. These leaks give us a pretty good idea of what we can expect from the Samsung Galaxy S26.

Design & Display

Samsung is expected to release three models like the previous Galaxy generation. We are not expecting big changes from the previous generation, but the display size is going to get bigger.

Standard Model (6.3-inch) / Plus Model (6.7-inch) /Ultra Model (6.9-inch)

The real change is on the back of the phone, where we are going to see a pill-shaped camera island. We should also see changes in thickness and weight. There is a possibility that Samsung will launch a Samsung Galaxy S25 FE (Fan Edition) in September 2025, which will be budget-friendly. We are not going to see the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge because of poor sales; Samsung has delayed or dropped the idea for this year.

Performance & Processor

Samsung has two options for the chipset. They can go with the well-recognized Snapdragon chip, or they are going to equip the Samsung phone with the Exynos 2600. It all depends on the location. For example, in some regions, the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus are going to be equipped with Exynos 2600, and the S26 Ultra will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 CPU. Once again, it all depends on the country.

It is also confirmed that all S26 models are going to be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset in the USA.

What is the difference between Exynos and Snapdragon? Both are tested and are a perfect match for Samsung phones, and if we talk about the gap, it is smaller than ever. If Samsung chooses not to change much, the chip from the previous generation will still get a bump in processor speed.

Camera System

The Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26 Plus are going to be similar to the previous generation, and the Ultra is going to get a bump.

S26 Ultra Camera

Rumors have said that the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is going to take photos at 200MP with a wide-angle lens, 50MP ultrawide, 50MP 5x periscope, and 10MP 3x telephoto. It is not a big change from the last generation, but it should help.

If Samsung wants to keep costs low, the Galaxy S26 is going to be the same as the Galaxy S25 with its camera (50MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 10MP 3x telephoto, and 12MP selfie lens). But if there are no hardware changes, that does not mean they are not going to upgrade anything; they are working on software improvements to enhance the camera. Samsung has released three videos that showcase how photos are going to be better than ever before.

The first video showcases that the new Samsung Galaxy S26is going to use a feature called “Samsung’s AI Zoom Boost.” This feature uses AI to fill in details on digitally zoomed-in shots.

The second and third videos showcase how filming in low light is going to get better. There are more details that I should highlight in these videos, but I am sticking with the main points.

Battery & Charging

The battery is the main area where we are going to see changes. It was declared that the base model will increase from 4,000mAh in the last generation to 4,300mAh, and all models are expected to have some changes. The Samsung Galaxy S26 Plus is going to get a 4,900mAh battery, and the Ultra a 5,000mAh battery.

Charging is also going to get a bump. Even wireless charging has plans for improvement, but no specific official details are available. There is a chance that we will see new silicon-carbon batteries, but even if that is not the case, the new advanced chipsets will significantly help battery performance. We all know that Snapdragon or Exynos chips are going to be more efficient.

I am sure that the Samsung Galaxy S26 is going to launch with Android 16 (the base operating system) and One UI 8 (a custom layer on Android 16).

New Features

AI is going to be infused with Bixby; the main source could be Perplexity AI. There will be new editing tools for images and new Galaxy AI features. Samsung is also going to add the “Direct Voicemail” feature, which will transcribe voicemails. That will allow users to know if the caller is a scammer or not.

There is going to be a big boost for satellite communication, which will allow users to communicate in places where networks are not available and know where they are located.all of

Samsung is trying its best to avoid a price increase. • 256GB – $859.99

Final Verdict

Who should buy it or skip it? Personally, I think you should buy the new Samsung Galaxy S26 if there is a big change in your life, like if it has been more than five years since you changed your phone. If you upgrade and it is a game changer for you, then yes, go ahead. But if you do not really need it or you are on a budget, then try to avoid it. If you have a phone between the S22 and S25, you can also skip it. That is my personal opinion. It is just advice.
