Hello guys! As you may be noticing around, gaming has started climbing stairs throughout the entertainment world. I think all the gaming fans who are reading my blog must know about the Game of the Year event. So I was wondering: every year there is a game of the year; however, which one of these games of the year is the best one of all of them? I won’t be talking about all of them, but more likely about the best ones.
Soon after Red Dead Redemption was released, the game’s development began and continued for more than eight years, culminating in one of the most expensive video games ever created. To speed up development, Rockstar combined all of its studios into one big team. Instead of drawing inspiration from movies or artwork, they used actual places to create a realistic portrayal of the era for the game’s characters and setting. After evaluating the technology of the eighth-generation consoles during the Grand Theft Auto V port, Rockstar created the game, which was their first designed exclusively for them. Woody Jackson’s original music and various vocal tracks created by Daniel Lanois are featured on the game’s soundtrack. A 100-hour workweek rush schedule for development resulted in reports of required unpaid overtime.
The game was being developed simultaneously by several Rockstar studios across the globe, starting around the time of Grand Theft Auto IV’s release. In order to improve upon the fundamental framework of its predecessors, the developers built the game around three main protagonists, drawing inspiration from several of their earlier works (including Red Dead Redemption and Max Payne 3). A large portion of the development work went into creating the open environment, and a few team members went on field trips throughout California to gather footage for the design team. A group of producers worked together for several years to create an original score for the game. Grand Theft Auto V was published for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in September 2013 and for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in November 2014. Initially in March 2022 for the Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5, then in April 2015 for Windows.
The series’ titles have received accolades for being among the greatest action games ever made. Several accolades have been given to the series, including multiple Game of the Year awards for the 2005 and 2018 releases. Additionally, a few titles have been remastered for more recent PlayStation systems. The franchise is PlayStation’s most lucrative first-party brand, having sold an estimated 66+ million games globally as of November 2023. The franchise expanded into various media, including three comic book series and three novels, as a result of the series’ strong sales and fan base. A television series set in the Norse age is now in development for Amazon Prime Video, although a film adaptation of the first installment was ultimately abandoned. The first major game to be released on a platform other than the PlayStation was God of War, which debuted globally on April 20, 2018, for the PlayStation 4 and on January 14, 2022, for Windows (PC) via Steam. The gameplay of the game, along with its new mythological backdrop, marked a change in direction for the franchise.
Initially, Breath of the Wild was supposed to be a Wii U exclusive that would come out in 2015. On March 3, 2017, it was eventually released as the last Nintendo game for the Wii U and as the launch title for the Switch. It was well-received and took home multiple Game of the Year honors. While some critiqued its technological performance, many commended its open-ended gameplay, open-world design, and meticulous attention to detail. With 33.55 million copies sold by 2024, it is the best-selling Zelda game as well as one of the best-selling video games ever. Video games like Breath of the Wild are regarded as some of the best ever. Because of its emphasis on exploration, physics-based sandbox, and emergent gameplay, journalists referred to it as a watershed in open-world design. Breath of the Wild has served as an inspiration to many developers, and open-world games often draw comparisons to it. Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity, a spin-off, debuted in 2020, while Tears of the Kingdom, a sequel, followed in 2023.
In my opinion, I find GTA V better on the top of games of all time because GTA V is way different than the other games in ways of its story, gameplay, and mods. I said mods because once you finish the game most of the time you cannot replay it over and over again; at some point you need something different, so the mods make it up for it. I wanna also say that in terms of gameplay, Red Dead Redemption is a bit better than GTA V. I think you might agree with me, and also, God of War is an 8/10 game, but it has a bit boring battles. Im not really interested in The Legend of Zelda; it is not my type of game.
Well, either way, everyone has their own likes, and some of you will agree with me and some of you might not, but in any case, I hope the gaming era grows a bit more and more amazing games come out. I am just so excited about 2025 because GTA 6 is coming after a long time of another GTA game.
