December 6, 2018 saw the release of Creative, while Save the World and Battle Royale were early access titles released in 2017. Fortnite Battle Royale in particular became an enormous success and a cultural phenomenon, drawing more than 125 million players in less than a year and earning hundreds of millions of dollars per month, even though Epic Games’ Save the World and Creative versions were successful. Up until December 2019, the total gross revenue generated by Fortnite was $9 billion, making it one of the highest-earning apps ever. While Battle Royale and Creative were released for Apple TV, Android and iOS devices, and Nintendo Switch, Save the World is compatible with macOS, PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One.
