Assassin's Creed Shadows

What is this game about?

Ubisoft Quebec is the developer and publisher of the upcoming action role-playing game Assassin’s Creed Shadows. The game is the first to be released on the Assassin’s Creed: Infinity platform, the fourteenth main entry in the Assassin’s Creed series, and the follow-up to 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage. From the viewpoints of two protagonists—Naoe, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai modeled after the historical figure of the same name—the game, which is set in 16th-century Japan near the end of the Sengoku period, will center on the millennium-old conflict between the Assassin Brotherhood, who fight for peace and liberty, and the Templar Order, who seek peace through control. Because of their distinct control styles and distinct gameplay, the two characters enable players to approach objectives in a variety of ways. On February 14, 2025, Shadows will be released on the PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox Series X/S, macOS, and iPadOS. Like its predecessors, Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an action-adventure stealth game. In addition to letting players control shadows and use a grappling hook for parkour, it is built on an improved version of Anvil and uses dynamic lighting and ambient interactions with new features including breakable props. The game’s open environment, which is about the same size as that of Assassin’s Creed Origins, changes seasons, with lush grass and flowering plants in the spring and frozen water and icicles in the winter, all of which have an impact on gameplay. In contrast to earlier games, missions are non-linear, allowing players to freely follow and remove targets. Instead of adding objective markers to the player’s map, vantage points will be present in the world to assist the player in scanning the area for points of interest. As an alternative, a spy network can be enlisted and trained to obtain intelligence, and targets can be located by bribing officials. The ability to crawl around the ground in a prone position gives the player characters a lower profile and allows them to enter narrow spaces, one of the new gameplay features introduced in this iteration. Additionally, the character has the ability to enter shallow water and use a bamboo stick to breathe. Eagle vision returns as well, but unlike Assassin’s Creed Mirage, it would not show the NPCs through the walls because comrades are highlighted in orange and foes are marked in red. The display also features a wide variety of historically realistic weaponry, like Japanese katanas, the kanabō war club, yari spears, shuriken, kunai, and the kusarigama. With the use of the skill trees that each weapon has, players can gradually become more proficient with particular weapons. As they advance through various missions, players can switch between characters. In addition to employing arquebuses, which give him a potent long-range capability, Yasuke’s combat includes realistic weapon impacts and destructible environments, creating a theatrical battle experience. In the meantime, Naoe uses a kusarigama to repel intruders and swings its chain in broad arcs to generate distance, while brandishing the recognizable hidden blade with its pivot function to act as a tantō. She also uses stealth tactics with a lethal and agile playstyle, ambushing adversaries through Shoji paper doors and lurking in the rafters.

Conclusion

To conclude, I would say the game looks promising just like its predecessors, the game itself is coming in 4 months so we still have the time to prepare for it and meanwhile play the other Assassin’s creed games to improve our skill level. This game seems to have a lot of different abilities which may need a high skill to control.
