Every phone in the market has camera bumps. Phones like Apple, Samsung, OnePlus, and more. But Google released the new Google Pixel 10a without a camera bump. Is this something iPhone and others will follow?
Google took a new approach compared to the previous generation. The Pixel 9a had small bumps, but now the Pixel 10a removes them completely. That is the biggest change, along with some minor upgrades. I would say the new Google Pixel 10a is a reflection of the Pixel 9a with some design changes and small improvements.

Design
The Colors

The Flat Design

Display

For protection, Google upgraded from Gorilla Glass 3 to Gorilla Glass 7i. The display of Google Pixel 10a supports a 120Hz refresh rate, but it defaults to 60Hz.

Chip

Camera

However, sometimes details can be lost, and autofocus is not always perfect. The phone does not include a telephoto lens, so it is limited to 8x zoom, with quality dropping after 3–4x. Around 2x zoom, Google’s processing helps improve clarity, but images can look slightly artificial or over-sharpened.
That same image processing does a great job of bringing out details in both bright and dark areas. The Pixel 10a also includes Night Sight, which helps capture clear photos in very low light. It performs well in medium lighting conditions too, producing sharp and clear images.
For video, stabilization is not perfect, but it can record 4K at 60fps with some minor issues.
Like Apple and Samsung, the Pixel 10a does not offer a lot of camera customization.
Features
The Google Pixel 10a includes features like Camera Coach, which helps guide you to take better photos. There is also Auto Best Take, which captures multiple shots and combines them into the best group photo.
For this price, it is hard to find this level of quality at $679 CAD.
Battery & Charging
The Google Pixel 10a has a 5,100mAh battery, which is solid. Charging has improved from 23W to 30W, and wireless charging increased from 7.5W to 10W with a Qi charger.

However, Google Pixel 10a does not include features like Pixel Screenshots, notification summaries, weather summaries, Pixel Studio, Magic Cue, Call Notes, or on-device call translation.
The phone also supports Quick Share, which works similarly to Apple’s AirDrop.
