Elden Ring: Nightreign is the new version of Elden Ring, released on May 30, 2025, with different maps, creatures, items, and more. It was developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment. The game sold over 2 million copies in 24 hours. From the start, it got a strong launch. After five days of its release, it reached 3.5 million units sold worldwide. This game became one of the top-earning games of May 2025. Over 75% of gamers recommended the new game.
STORY
There is a connection to the previous game. It states that after the Shattering of the powerful Elden Ring, the demigods started fighting for power. Something far worse than war was going to begin. What was supposed to happen was that the Golden Order would restore itself, but what really happened was that the sky cracked, the stars vanished, and there was endless Nightfall. This event is called Nightreign. It happened because of a cosmic shadow.
In this timeline, there is the Night Lord. There are many transformations in the forests, castles, oceans, and more. There are other monsters appearing from the outer realm, but eight beings called the Nightlords are the ones with tremendous power. Now, you are going to fight in an alternative world called Limveld. Everything has changed from the previous world. Nightfarers are the main heroes of the game, summoned to erase the Endless Night.
The game has its own ending, but the ending is different depending on the Nightfarer. In total, there are eight playable Nightfarers. (The different endings apply to some Remembrances (Nightfarers).)
After completing all the exploration and fighting, players are presented with four different endings: Endless Night, New Night, Night of Love, and Dawn. It depends on the player’s actions throughout the game and how you arrive at one of those endings.
GAMEPLAY
At the end of each day in the game, the map, minor bosses, items, and more are randomized. There is a high possibility that players get to play on a map called “Shifting Earth.” On this map, everything is completely changed, and you can find a massive dungeon that holds more bosses with high-level valuable rewards.
On June 19, 2025, there was an update adding a new difficulty mode. With this update, the starting Everdark Sovereign was originally in the second phase, but now it progresses to the third phase. They also added a new Nightlord.

On December 4, 2025, players were able to download content called The Forsaken Hollows. This content added two bosses, new Night bosses, a new location, a new map, and two new Nightfarers called Undertaker and Scholar.
In Conclusion
The new version of Elden Ring cannot be missed or ignored. There are a lot of things to explore in this game. The story and features that I mentioned are just one-third of the game; this game should not be missed at any cost.
